How do I add an additional line to my account?
- Login to your Vonage Online Account. Click the Add-On tab
- Click on Add an additional Line.
- Select Send me a new Phone Adapter or Use My Existing Phone Adapter. Choose a Rate Plan. Select Assign a new phone number or choose Keep my existing number. Click Continue.
- If you chose to have a new device sent to you, please select a device here. Click Continue.
- Enter shipping address. Click Continue.
- Select to choose the shipping option. Click Accept.
- Select the Add a Number 911 activation address. At the bottom, click "I Accept". Shipping Order Summary page. Click Accept.
- Confirmation Screen. Thank you for choosing Vonage!
Why can't I add new lines?
There are three situations which would prevent you from ordering new lines:
- When you have a pending order for an additional number, you must wait for this order to be completed before placing another order.
- When your account has been suspended or disconnected, no additional lines may be added.
- If you are a new customer, you will be unable to add an additional line until your phone adapter has been configured for your use and shipped
How can I connect Vonage service to multiple phones?
There are several ways to connect Vonage service to multiple phones:
- When you sign up for Vonage service, you can choose a cordless phone system from Vonage (e.g. VTech IP8100 and Uniden UIP1869V). See our product page for a description of the multiple handset systems that are currently available.
- Use your existing home telephone wiring to route Vonage service throughout your house to your existing telephones. Vonage offers Professional Installation in many areas of the country. - Use a cordless phone system that comes with a base unit and extra handsets. The base station of the cordless telephone plugs directly into the Vonage phone adapter. Multiple handsets can be placed anywhere in your house.
- Use a multiple jack extension connector, available from your local Home Center. Plug the connector into the phone port of your phone adapter, and then plug your other phones into the connector.
- Use a wireless phone jack system, available from your local Home Center. The base unit connects to the phone port of your phone adapter and the wireless jacks plug into your household electrical outlets. Each wireless jack can have one telephone connected to it. Please note, in some cases, wireless phone jack systems may introduce interference and possible audio issues.
