WELL ROOM Offers Virtual Healthcare Platform powered by Arsaga Partners and Vonage Video API

Based in Japan, WELL ROOM, established in April 2021 as a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., provides a multilingual healthcare service for companies that employ foreign employees. WELL ROOM provides a variety of services, including referrals to medical institutions for health check-ups and virtual mental health/industrial physician consultations made possible with the Vonage Communications Platform (VCP).

The development and operation of WELL ROOM was supported by Vonage's partner Arsaga Partners. Multilingual Healthcare Solutions for Global Employees

In recent years, the number of foreign residents throughout Japan has increased, but due to the lack of medical facilities with multilingual capabilities, it can be challenging for individuals to receive adequate support regarding physical health, mental health and medical care. 

WELL ROOM was designed to address these issues as a web service built for companies that want to support the health and wellbeing of their employees, regardless of whether they are Japanese or not. The WELL ROOM service provides a referral service for medical institutions offering multilingual health check-ups, a mental health consultation service, an industrial physician consultation service and an appointment management system for each of these services, so that all employees, regardless of nationality or native tongue, can access a variety of healthcare services in their preferred language. In response to the growing demand for online medical services in the wake of the recent pandemic, WELL ROOM's mental health and occupational physician consultation service also includes a video call function.

Mr. Takumi Shimoda, representative director of WELL ROOM and member of Mitsubishi Estate's Business Creation Department, says: "Currently, WELL ROOM offers health check-ups and consultations with industrial physicians in two languages (Japanese and English), while counseling by clinical psychologists and others is available in seven languages (Japanese, English, Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Vietnamese and French). In addition, through a system with a simple and easy-to-use UI from the perspective of foreign residents, appointments for health check-ups and mental health counseling can be made at any time and from anywhere, powered by the Vonage Video Application Programming Interface (API).”
