Vonage Celebrates A Successful Hacktoberfest 2020
Vonage served as a platinum partner for Hacktoberfest 2020, a month full of virtual events, challenges, educational sessions and community-building all focused on the celebration of open source software. Hacktoberfest, presented by DigitalOcean in partnership with Dev & Intel, has become a key event in the Open Source community’s calendar over the years.
Participants were encouraged and rewarded for suggesting changes to software repositories, making the repositories more accurate and accessible for everyone to use. Open source contributors had the opportunity to give back to projects old and new, with no contribution too small, from bug fixes to documentation updates. All community submissions to Vonage’s software repositories will be used to provide a better experience for future developers.
Throughout the month, Vonage hosted virtual events around the world with over 180 attendees and contributors from 24 countries across the Americas to APAC, Europe and Israel. The company also hosted 15 talks, published 47 educational resources, clocked over 43 streaming hours over Twitch and received 226 contributions to its repositories.
