Why this role matters

The VCP Experience is the primary user interface for Vonage’s customers, developers and non-developer personas alike. We are looking for a visionary to help build the next generation Console for our unified Vonage experience in order to allow our customers to design, build and maintain their communications solutions. This is a pivotal role in defining the future of cloud communications and enabling Vonage to become the market leader.


As part of the responsibilities you will also own and maintain the current API Consoles for Video and Core APIs with a view to integrate into the new VCP Experience Console.

What you will do

  • Formulate and evolve the strategy for the API groups’ current Consoles towards a single Vonage API experience.
  • Deliver vision of VCP unified API customer experience working cross functionally to collect and deliver the solution.
  • Work with engineering teams and other product managers to ensure teams are executing on the plans and extract any impedance.
  • Work with the architects of our services to ensure the product is designed and enabled to scale.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Business Operations teams and drive the go-to-market strategy of the products.
  • Gatekeeper for measuring success both qualitatively and quantitatively through surveys, feedback and data analysis to understand success and drive prioritisation. 
  • Meet customers and prospects regularly to incubate ideas and validate product choices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive market and conduct assessment of new competitive offerings

What you will bring

  • Technical and user experience knowledge of building complex UI applications from a high volume environment such as Finance (e.g. Trading systems), Telecoms or Travel industries.
  • Highly analytical and at ease with influencing others through facts, insights, and great presentation abilities.
  • Learning and open mindset: not constrained to use only one set of technologies from previous experience; open to different methods to achieve business goals.
  • Experience rolling up your sleeves at start-ups or able to demonstrate an ambitious track record at a large corporation or in parallel to your work.

What is required for application

Required

  • Computer Science degree or similar technical qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of Product Management experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience of building or development of complex UI/UX web applications
  • Experience of Business Operations, BSS/OSS needs and/or analysis in the Telco, Travel, or Finance sector.
  • Familiarity with web technologies e.g. HTML, CSS, Javascript, REST APIs.
  • Experience of working with UX Designers, wireframing and writing technical requirements for building complex web applications
  • Knowledge of system authentication methodologies such as OAuth, SAML or services such as OKTA or WSO2.
  • Understanding of databases (MySQL), SQL queries and data schemas.
  • Able to work with data in formats such as CSV, XML, JSON, etc.

Desired

  • Previous software development experience at some point in your career.
  • Comfortable presenting and explaining complex ideas to multiple different stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of enterprise SaaS such as CRMs, Analytics tools, iPaaS platforms.
  • Experience of wireframing and prototyping complex UIs for web applications.
  • Background in agile methodologies & tools (e.g. Scrum, Kanban), definition of done frameworks.
  • Excellent project and delivery management skills.
