Vonage is proud to be an Innovator sponsor of Dreamforce, the signature Salesforce event which is absolutely buzzing with innovation, back-to-back events, fun, networking, and excitement, as well as a showcase for the latest solutions in customer engagement — encompassing everything from contact center technology to artificial intelligence and conversational commerce.
Because of its size and scale, exploring Dreamforce can feel a lot like exploring a new city — best achieved with some preparation and informed recommendations. With that in mind, here are some tips to help you develop a game plan to maximize your Dreamforce experience.
DO pack for versatility
Late September is San Francisco’s warmest time of year, but fog, wind, sun, and even some rain are possible. Make sure your wardrobe has something to deal with each of them. And be prepared to walk. Not only will you be on your feet in the main convention center, but many great Dreamforce events will be held in venues that are a few blocks away. Comfortable shoes are a must.
DON’T overschedule yourself
From Marc Benioff’s opening keynote to the annual concert to the plethora of learning sessions and parties in between, Dreamforce’s abundant agenda can make you feel like you need to be everywhere at once to avoid missing out on anything. But make sure you leave a little flexibility in your schedule in case you discover a company or concept you want to learn more about, or you bump into someone you’ll want to catch up with.
DO plan for travel and queue times
Because sessions might be held in venues blocks away from each other, plan your days with the locations in mind, and be realistic about the time it takes to get from point A to point B. Ridesharing apps like Uber or Lyft will be overwhelmed and prone to surge pricing. So plan on walking or taking public transit if possible — including Salesforce’s own hotel shuttles.
Also, expect long lines at high-profile events, such as the keynote. That line begins forming a few hours before the scheduled start. Those without passes can also enjoy a front-row seat for the conference by joining us at the Vonage Hub at The Intercontinental Hotel where we’ll be live-streaming the sessions on Salesforce+, Salesforce’s new streaming platform! The Vonage Hub is the place to rest, relax, and refuel. Then get ready for our product sessions and customer presentations, plus parties, giveaways, food, and fun!
DON’T forget to RSVP
Be sure to use the free Salesforce Events app to reserve your seat at sessions early, but then keep checking the listings - since new sessions can be regularly added, it’s likely that sessions that are a great fit for you won’t be available the first time you look. So recognize that you may need to alter your reservations closer to show time.
DO Schedule Meetings in Advance
When it comes to meetings, it's not just about numbers. Your time is valuable and you want to make sure you are using networking and business development opportunities strategically. That takes planning. You can book a meeting with Vonage now and register for a demo at the Vonage Hub to learn more about our solutions.
