Forgot your phone? Use your computer! Just download Vonage Softphone to add a fully functioning telephone interface to your PC or Mac. Perfect while on the road, you can use it to make calls, receive calls, and check your voicemail.
You'll always feel connected with Vonage Softphone, not to mention safe - 911 calls are routed to the Vonage National Emergency Call Center. When the trained agent answers, provide your phone number and location. They'll then report your emergency to a local call center.
How to Use Vonage Softphone
Before installing Vonage Softphone:
- Login to your Vonage Online Account
- Click on the "Features" link
- Click on the "Manage Softphone Lines" link
- Write down your Vonage Softphone Phone Number and Password
- Exit any audio applications
To install the Vonage Softphone on your PC:
- Visit http://www.vonage.com/downloads/xsoftphone.exe
- Click on the "Run" button
- In the Vonage Softphone Setup Wizard, click on the "Next" button to start installation
- Follow the instructions and then to launch, select "Launch X-PRO Vonage"
- Click on the "Finish" button
- In the Audio Tuning Wizard, click on the "Next" button to begin
- Follow the instructions and then click on the "Finish" button
- Enter the Vonage Softphone Phone Number and Password you wrote down before installation
- Click on the "Login" button
- When you see the message, "Logged in - Enter Phone Number," your Vonage Softphone is ready for use
To install the Vonage Softphone on your Mac:
- Visit http://www.vonage.com/downloads/X_pro-Vonage-Mac.dmg
- If you see the license agreement, read and click on the "Agree" button. If you don't see it, locate the X_pro-Vonage-Mac.dmg file, double-click on it, read and click on the "Agree" button
- Drag and drop the Vonage Softphone icon into the Applications folder. If you can't, drop it into the Home folder
- Open the Applications or Home folder
- Double-click on the Vonage Softphone icon to launch
- In the Audio Tuning Wizard, click on the "Next" button to begin
- Follow the instructions and then click on the "Finish" button
- Enter the Vonage Softphone Phone Number and Password you wrote down before installation
- Click on the "Login" button
- When you see the message, "Logged in - Enter Phone Number," your Vonage Softphone is ready for use
